The Traffic Police announced the last opportunity to extend the period of traffic exemptions for old accumulated violations and renewals for a period of 30 days, as the reduction will continue until the end of the next month of Muharram 1448 AH, before fees return to their previous value in accordance with the organization’s regulations.
The Traffic Police explained that the decision to extend comes in appreciation of the circumstances of citizens, and taking into account alleviating their financial obligations, as the period of previous announced exemptions and reductions that ended before Eid al-Adha coincided with the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, which are times when the obligations of heads of household increase.
She noted that violations and renewal fees will be calculated at their highest limit immediately after the deadline for reduction expires, and there will be no exceptions.
She confirmed that seizure campaigns will be implemented immediately after the specified deadline expires, because the automated system for exemptions and reductions cannot remain open continuously, and because the administrative and procedural system must differentiate between the initiators who rushed to benefit from the facilities and corrected their situations, and the reckless ones who deliberately evade settling their situations after the Ministry of Interior and the Traffic Police presented to them this exceptional initiative that took into account their circumstances.
The Traffic Police alerted owners of old handbook cards to quickly take advantage of this opportunity, stressing that they will not deal with any old handbook cards after the expiry of the specified period and will consider them invalid, and in the future they will not have any legal value in proving ownership.
