Dinner of death: A mobster was concreted in a barrel, the police chief covered up the murder
The body found in a barrel in Serbia’s Inđija belongs to a member of the criminal underworld who has been missing for several days. The 52-year-old was liquidated in a well-known Belgrade restaurant, even in front of the Belgrade police chief. This is supposed to help in concealing the crime.
Last Thursday afternoon, a barrel was dug up between Belgrade and Novi Sad, in which the body of a man was found. According to the Serbian State Prosecutor’s Office, DNA analysis at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where the autopsy was performed, confirmed that the body of a 52-year-old man was encased in concrete in a barrel Aleksandar Nešović – Baje.
Did you know by the panties?
According to the Serbian portal Blic, the perpetrators tried to set it on fire before the burial, but they did not manage to destroy it completely. They should have known that it was really him at the time of the excavation, as they found Calvin Klein underwear on the body, which, according to his wife, was worn by Nešović on the fateful evening.
By now, the man had been missing for almost ten days, ever since the evening when he called his wife for the last time, and then disappeared. He told her he was having dinner with friends, but shortly after that his phone became unavailable. His wife reported him missing a few hours later.
He is said to have died a violent death that very evening, namely in a restaurant in the elite Senjak area of Belgrade. Criminal investigators later found traces of blood and a nine-millimeter shell casing, and Nešović’s mobile phone in a garbage container opposite the restaurant. The murdered man was an alleged member of the infamous Belgrade Kenko clan.
Several police officers arrested
And what was supposed to happen anyway? Chief of the Belgrade Police Veselin Milić is said to have invited Nešović to dinner, as he is said to be trying to smooth over a dispute between two Belgrade mafia groups. Because he trusted the chief, Nešović went to dinner without security guards. After a short argument, one of his “opponents” allegedly shot him at the table with a rifle that his wife had previously delivered to him, Blic reports.
Two police officers, in the company of the main suspect, allegedly removed the body and burned it by the roadside, while Veselin Milić and another police officer allegedly cleaned up the tracks in the restaurant and deleted the surveillance camera footage. A total of eleven people were arrested, including the waiter and the bar owner. They are in custody, the chief of the Belgrade police, who is suspected of covering up the murder, has been dismissed.
