THE Bank South Pacific Financial Group Limited (BSP) has opened its upgraded branch in Minj, Jiwaka, allowing access to modern banking services in the Highlands.
Chairman Robert Bradshaw said the Minj branch was part of BSP’s K1.2 billion multi-year investment programme to modernise its network and improve customer services.
“By bringing essential banking services closer to rural and growing populations, BSP continues to strengthen financial inclusion and accessibility,” he said.
“For more than 100 years, BSP has been a partner in connecting communities, supporting local enterprise, and championing prosperity in PNG and the Pacific.”

General manager retail Ronesh Dayal said the upgrade from a sub-branch to a full-service branch was completed in just five months.
BSP established its branch in Minj 11 years ago.
It now offers teller and card services, account opening facilities, deposit and dispensing ATMs, and self-service digital banking registration.
Customers in Minj are among the first in the Highlands to access deposit ATM services, enabling secure and convenient banking even after hours.
Serving more than 200,000 people, the branch is supporting the region’s strong agricultural base, plus small businesses.
Customers used to travel to Mount Hagen for banking services.
Bradshaw said BSP had 17 branches, 60 ATMs, more than 2,400 Eftpos terminals, 136 agents, and 318 staff in the Highlands.
“BSP continues to also invest in community development initiatives focused on education, health, and social impact,” he said.
“This development represents the creation of new opportunities and a stronger future for the community.”
