In the midst of a mix of versions about what happened aboard the ‘Supreme’, The Minister of Transportation, María Fernanda Rojas, has already announced that possible non-compliance with safety provisions is being investigated, especially in aspects related to the mandatory use of protective elements and other operational conditions.
“If these behaviors are confirmed, violations of the river transportation regime could occur and give rise to administrative sanctions by the Superintendency of Transportation.the entity in charge of the inspection, surveillance and control of service providers,” the Transportation Ministry said in a statement.

And although it has not emerged which company the Ministry is investigating, EL TIEMPO investigated and established that it is Inversiones Los Lagos de Guatapé SAS, which operates under the name Magnus Xperience, owner of the slab where the events occurred.

This is a firm created in September 2021, to which the Superintendency of Transportation granted it on December 14, 2022 recognition for complying 100 percent with current regulations for the river sector.
EL TIEMPO investigated and established that the firm, established with a capital of 6 million pesos, is dedicated to river passenger transportationthe construction of boats and floating structures and the sale of food and alcoholic beverages.

The firm also owns the Muelle Bar Flotante Magnus premises.

EL TIEMPO called one of Magnus
An employee of the company, who identified himself as Carlos Sosa, assured EL TIEMPO that one of the representatives was in charge of carrying out the procedures with the person who hired the party: “I only manage the page, I was not there on the day of the event, but I know that yesterday the company had an appointment with the Prosecutor’s Office, I don’t know very well what was discussed.”

And he added: “Everyone who was at that party is of legal age. In fact, before they boarded the boat, the police conducted a search, asked for identification cards, and verified all the names of the attendees.”
In addition, he was emphatic that the party at the planchón was held with the security protocols required by law: “Before leaving, all people wore their life jackets, we even have several signs with the recommendations that people should follow on board.”
And regarding the fight on the planchón, he indicated that, apparently, the young Avendaño had aggressive behavior with the crew and that he even broke a sink on the boat.
