Ulaanbaatar,
April 9, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The
Asian Boxing Championships for adults entered its 10th day at Asa Arena,
Ulaanbaatar with the women’s finals across 10 weight categories getting
underway.
In
the 48 kg final, Mongolia’s Nomuundari Enkh-Amgalan faced India’s Minakshi
Minakshi in the first bout of the day, which determined the tournament’s first
gold medalist. The judges awarded a unanimous decision victory to the Indian
boxer, leaving Nomuundari with a silver medal on her debut appearance at the
Asian Championships.
The
19-year-old is a second-year student at Mon Altius University and the youngest
competitor in the tournament. A member of the national team and a national
master of sport, she previously won a silver medal at the 2024 Asian Youth
Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, and a bronze medal at an
international tournament in Almaty.
Mongolia’s
team has so far secured one silver and three bronze medals. The championships
will conclude tomorrow with the men’s finals across 10 weight divisions.
Mongolia’s Bilguunsaikhan Kharkhuu will compete in the 55 kg category.
